Oil Spill Monitoring
USV Tupan can be integrated with an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) to form an autonomous system capable of detecting oil at the surface. The integrated system uses visual data to identify the oil and also collects metocean data to feed an oil dispersion model.
We are developing such a system through the ARIEL R&D project in partnership with Repsol Sinopec and financed by ANP.
This project consists of the development and integration of two autonomous systems: USV and UAV. The integrated system allows continuous monitoring and detection of oil spills at sea. In addition, the integration of metocean sensors allows it to integrate with existing oil dispersion models, providing forecasts. The USV and the UAV will work autonomously and collaboratively.
