In December 2025, TideWise conducted a post-dredging hydrographic survey at the Port of Imbetiba (Macaé/RJ) for Petrobras, using the Tupan II autonomous vehicle USV.

 

Equipped with the Kongsberg EM2042 multibeam echo sounder, the USV performed 27 nautical miles of sounding lines with full bottom coverage, operating 100% remotely.

 

The project served as a scientific case study that proved the superiority of autonomous bathymetry over conventional methods: the USV reduced sea time by 33%, optimized data processing by 57%, eliminated the risk to human life by operating with zero people on board, and decreased the carbon footprint by 75% due to low fuel consumption, delivering high-precision cartographic data.
